
Kevin Patrick Kiley
Congressman Kevin Kiley proudly serves the people of California’s current 3rd District. He is dedicated to using his position to promote fiscally sound policies to reduce inflation, protect taxpayers, improve public safety, manage our forests and public lands and prevent catastrophic wildfires.
The son of a special education teacher and doctor, Kevin grew up in California's newly formed 6th District, attended local public schools, and graduated from Granite Bay High School. After college, he began his career as a 10th Grade English teacher, chaired the school's English Department and led his students to significant academic gains. After graduating from law school, Kevin defended the U.S. Constitution in California courts and helped prosecute the civil case against China's Huawei Technologies for intellectual property theft. As a prosecutor and Deputy Attorney General, Kevin represented the People of California in cases against violent felons.

After his election to the State Assembly in 2016, Kevin authored groundbreaking new laws on freedom of speech, artificial intelligence, privacy, criminal justice reform, and protections for sexual assault victims. For his work advancing workers' rights, he was named the National Legislator of the Year by the Association of Independent Workers.
In 2022, Kevin was elected to Congress, where he has worked across party lines to enact measures that will result in lower costs for gasoline, groceries, utilities and insurance, making life more affordable for local residents. He secured the only BUILD Grant in California, providing $22.5 million to improve traffic near the Highway 65 / Interstate 80 interchange. He is credited with getting the Lake Tahoe Restoration Reauthorization Act passed through the House and signed into law, unlocking $410 million to protect this national treasure and mitigate the risk of wildfires. Kevin also led a successful bipartisan effort to restore Medicare funding for senior programs. A strong advocate for keeping our communities safe, he is focused on holding violent criminals accountable and protecting children from fentanyl.

Kevin Kiley is the one Independent Member of the United States House of Representatives, which has allowed him to have unique impact for his district. Following a nationwide evaluation, the nonpartisan Congressional Management Foundation awarded Rep. Kiley its coveted award for Best of Constituent Service. In Congress Kevin is Chairman of the House Subcommittee responsible for K-12 Education and Childcare. He became the first Independent to chair a committee hearing in over 70 years.

Kevin serves on the Judiciary Committee, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the Education and Workforce Committee, and is the Chair of the Subcommittee for K-12 Education. Beyond this, Kiley delivers for our region, bringing home over $200 million in federal appropriations and grants to reduce traffic congestion, improve public safety, expand access to water resources, and protect our homes from fire. He has made constituent services a priority, closing nearly 6,000 constituent cases and returning over $20 million to those constituents.
Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard, a law degree from Yale, and a master’s in secondary education from Loyola Marymount. Kevin, his wife Chelsee, and their puppy Jemma reside in Rocklin.
